Rebecca Memoli, American, born 1985


Rebecca Memoli is a Chicago-based visual artist.  She received her BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute (2006) and her MFA in Photography from Columbia College (2017). She co-founded the Blood Dumpster artist collective from 2007-2014 and has been the curator of several exhibitions throughout the United States. The Feeling Is Mutual has received national success and received funding from the Weisman Award through Columbia College.

As an artist Memoli has exhibited internationally and has participated in groups exhibitions and events including Satellite Art Show in Miami, 2017. Solo exhibitions include a feature at the New York Public Library on Mulberry Street and Decadence and Dirt at Local Project in Long Island City.

Currently Memoli works as a teaching artist for several organizations including Beverly Arts Center, Chicago High School for the Arts, and Lillstreet Art Center. With a fully functioning print studio, Memoli provides custom prints, framing, consulting and editing services for artists and amateur photographers.

Art criticism and writing have become another outlet for Memoli’s work. She has participated and led several panel discussions and works as a contributing editor for The New Art Examiner.
